 On January 22, 1999, a devastating tornado hit Downtown Clarksville. A total of 515 structures were damaged, 125 of those were demolished resulting in nearly $73 million in damage. However, from this fierce disaster arose a revitalized Downtown Clarksville – and an organization dedicated to making the future of this historic, 21st-century city even brighter … the Central Business Improvement District (CBID) was established and the Downtown District Partnership (DDP) was formed. |
