Key Committees
Several key committees provide focus and establish priorities to achieve maximum results for the good of downtown. Notable accomplishments and on-going work of the DDP Committees include:
Physical Plant – Developed streetscape master plan, facilitated downtown sidewalk upgrades, increased downtown security, procured a motorized sidewalk sweeper, implemented plan to reduce sign clutter. Also continues to facilitate downtown utility improvements and streetscape upgrades.
Promotion & Events – Developed event coordination council; support and/or coordinate annual events such as: MusicFest, Rivers & Spires Festival, Pub Crawl, Plenair Arts Festival.
Business & Property Owners – Enhances merchant relations, creates awareness of activities, facilitates and coordinates DDP membership efforts.
Residential Development – Coordinates residential enhancement programs, worked with the City of Clarksville to facilitate a property maintenance code.
Business Development – Developed land use study for the district to identify potential sites, determines economic impact of future development. Development of the Community Revolving Investment Fund (CRIF).
Design Review Board – Implemented design guidelines for exterior appearance, landscaping, lighting and parking lots and sign guidelines. Reviews all proposed building / remodeling projects within the CBID. |
