The mission of the DDP is to maintain downtown Clarksville as a vibrant government, business, retail, and residential center by ensuring a high aesthetic standard of development, celebrating the historic fabric of our community, and by promoting a clean and safe environment for all our citizens and visitors.
The vision — Downtown Clarksville will be the primary governmental, business, cultural, educational, and entertainment center in the region. It will be a preferred place to live, work, visit, shop and play. It will support and invite a diversity of users and be a place that lifts the spirit.
The Core Values — Within the CBID, all development, improvement, or redevelopment will be held to a high aesthetic standard. Within the CBID, the unique historic fabric of downtown Clarksville will be respected and celebrated.
Goals of the DDP include:
- Consolidating existing downtown economic development plans into one unified strategy.
- Advocating enhanced security in the district.
- Further refining and formalizing design review standards.
- Developing a long-range plan for infrastructure improvements.
- Lobby local and state governments for continued infrastructure improvements.
- Promote single and multi-family residential development in the district.
